Faces of Prevention Youth Council

The Faces of Prevention Youth Council empowers rural youth to become prevention leaders by creating and sharing digital campaigns that address drunk, drugged, and impaired driving. Through social media content, videos, and peer-to-peer messaging, Youth Council members amplify prevention messages that resonate with their communities and promote safer decision-making among adults and peers alike

02

Impaired Driving Simulator

RDC delivers Eyes Wide Open, an immersive impaired driving simulator using an electric golf cart paired with impaired vision goggles. This interactive experience allows participants to safely feel the effects of alcohol and drug impairment on reaction time, judgment, and motor skills. The simulation provides a powerful, memorable learning moment that reinforces the dangers of impaired driving in rural environments.

03

Mentorship & Leadership Development

Faces of Prevention provides structured mentorship to Youth Council members, guiding them in leadership development, public speaking, prevention education, and community outreach. Through adult mentorship and hands-on experience, youth build skills that prepare them to serve as advocates, role models, and future leaders committed to reducing impaired driving in rural communities.

04

Impaired Driving Awareness Workshops

RDC conducts impaired driving awareness workshops designed specifically for rural community members. These workshops address the risks of alcohol- and drug-impaired driving, local challenges such as long travel distances and limited transportation options, and practical prevention strategies. Workshops foster community dialogue, accountability, and shared responsibility for safer rural roadways.
